Motorcycle with ceramic coating on tank and fairings

Ceramic Coating & PPF for Motorcycles

Motorcycles take more direct environmental abuse per square inch of paint than any car. Engine and exhaust heat radiate onto the fairings; chain lube and brake dust attack the tail; rock chips hit the leading fairing edges at point-blank range; and rider gear constantly scuffs the tank.

A proper ceramic coating + targeted PPF makes a sportbike, tourer or cruiser dramatically easier to keep clean — and protects what is often a $15,000–$40,000 investment.

Why Motorcycles Need Protection

Motorcycle bodywork is fully exposed — there is no fender liner, no bumper, no underbody plastic to absorb debris. Every rock thrown by traffic hits the front fairing or fender at full speed.

Engine and exhaust heat soak the lower fairings constantly. Ceramic coatings are heat-resistant up to 800°F+, so they do not break down where wax or sealant would.

Chain lube spray, brake dust and tar bond to bare paint. On a coated tail, they wipe off with a damp microfiber.

Rider gear (jacket zippers, belt buckles, tank bags, helmet straps) constantly scuffs the tank and side panels. PPF on the tank top and knee contact areas stops it cold.

Recommended Protection Package

  • Ceramic coating on every painted surface, including fairings, tank, fenders and tail.
  • PPF on the tank top, tank sides where knees contact, and the leading edges of the front fairing and front fender.
  • Optional: PPF on the headlight lens, especially on bikes that ride a lot of miles or in gravel/construction zones.

Typical Price Range

$500 – $2,000

Most ceramic coating jobs on a sportbike or cruiser land $500–$1,200. Adding PPF on the tank and leading fairing edges typically adds $300–$800 depending on bike complexity and how much area is wrapped.
